IT ALL STARTED

Our founding location was open in Milton, Ontario in 1988, 3 other stores would soon follow. In 2005 with the introduction of a new corporate owner with a fresh new vision, the ground work would soon be laid for the successful business model of today.

 

Culminating after 2 years of in store research and product development 2 additional locations were added to our already thriving chain. A consistent look was developed for new locations and products were branded and standardized across the chain to ensure every customer will receive the same experience at all WingsUp! locations.

Question. Why a WingsUp! Franchise?
Answer. Owning your own business is considered to be very risky in today’s economy, however that risk can be minimized by taking advantage of branded products and systems that are already market strong. Our corporate leadership is comprised of WingsUp! owners and managers, whose best interests are always served by improving market share and purchasing power for all.

Question. What is the initial franchise fee?
Answer. The initial franchise fee is $35,000.00 + taxes. With the payment of this fee you are granted the right to own and operate a WingsUp franchise, your territory is secured and you will be granted the right of use to all Wings Up trademarks and protected material.

Our team will provided a complete turn-key operation which includes

Site Selection –evaluation of potential restaurant sites based on proven selection criteria
Lease Negotiation – an understanding of the real estate trends
Design and Store Layout (engineered drawings, mechanical, electrical and general layout)
Supervision of store construction – Professional supervision of all construction –typically our restaurants are 1200-1500 sq. ft.
Complete training both before opening and with on location support for up to 4 weeks following opening.
Advertising targeting your general service area for the week prior to and the week following opening.

Question. What are the Royalty fees and Advertising Service Fee?
Answer. All Royalty fees are based on gross sales of 4.5%, Initial Royalties are 0% with rates rising according to sales and eventually climbing to 4.5% by the end of the first year, it is important to note that we also require up to an additional 3% Advertising Fee. The Advertising Fee is collection according to an appropriate share of the corporate advertising budget and is used specifically for advertising and advertising related expenses.

Question. What is involved with selecting a franchisee?
Answer. While it is a good idea to note that a strong relationship between the franchisee and the franchisor, is important and ultimately beneficial to both parties this relationship will take time to bloom and prosper. While this is the number one end goal, it is not always practical to judge this requirement too soon into the process.
Potential franchisees must fill out an application and undergo a series of interviews.

Question. Do I need any qualifications to join your team?
Answer. While we do not look at qualification in any type of academic terms, we are always looking for individuals that share the same basic principles that we have found ever so valuable to our growth and long term sustainability. A good work ethic combined with dedication and loyalty has made us strong today and will keep us strong in the future.

Some other basic requirements that we like to see from all potential team members are.
-You must be financially capable of funding your franchise.
-You must have commitment to quality customer service.
-You must have strong management skill.
-You must have the staying power required to begin, maintain, and envision the growth of your restaurant.
-You must be willing and capable of being involved in the day to day operations of your restaurant AFTER ALL IT'S YOUR BUSINESS.

Question. How much cash (equity) do I need?
Answer. Approximately, $125,000 to $145,000 of un-encumbered cash is required, representing 40%-50% of the total investment depending on credit worthiness. This allows for approximately $25,000 - $50,000 of working capital.

Question. How much does it cost to purchase a restaurant?
Answer. Your restaurant will cost approximately $265,000.00.
This covers your complete TURN KEY operation, while we do prefer to have your participation in some areas such as site selection and lease approval. You are free to continue on with your daily routine whether that is regular employment, tending to another company or staying at home and taking care of the kids. A hassle free experience is what you will receive.

Included in the overall cost of the Franchise are:

Question. To what extent will I be trained?
Answer. You will be provided a full training manual that details our recipes and product assembly right from the raw vendor supplied ingredients until the finished product is presented to the customer. To accompany your manual you will receive in store and in class training prior to opening a restaurant of two weeks. Only when an acceptable level of knowledge has been achieved will you be ready to operate your restaurant.

Question. How much can I make as a franchisee?
Answer. Your profitability will be completely in your hands, while it will be dependent on some factors such as rent and finance fees.
We believe other factors such as food cost, sales volumes and other operational costs are all controlled by a successful franchisee and his management team.

Question. How long will support from the Franchisor last?
Answer. As we can only judge our success by the actual success of our franchisees.
Support will be available when ever you need it. If you are having trouble even a few years after opening day, we are here for your benefit and the benefit of the entire chain and as everyone knows a chain is only as strong as its weakest link so we strive to keep all links in our chain strong and sound.

Question. Can I own more than one Wingsup!?
Answer. Yes, the business model for a Wingsup! Works very well for franchisees looking to own multiple stores. To oversee daily operations, a full time manager or owner must be in place for each individual location.

Question. What methods are in place for order taking?
Answer. With our customized P.O.S (point of sale) system administrative functions are reduced while data analysis and sales tracking have been automated making routine paperwork efficient and timely.
